Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Colored sugar or sprinkles for decoration

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the creamed mixture, mixing well until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Fill your cookie press with the dough and form the cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top of the unbaked cookies if desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
