Savory Bourbon BBQ Bacon Cheeseburgers for Grilling Season

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for grilling

Method
 

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bourbon, BBQ sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the beef mixture into four equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each.
  4. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  5. Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side.
  6. Flip the patties and add a slice of bacon to each.
  7. Top each patty with cheddar cheese, and cover the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Remove the patties and bacon from the grill, and let them rest for a few minutes.
  9. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden.
  10. Assemble the burgers by placing the bacon on the patties, followed by the top bun.
