Hearty Ravioli Casserole with Cheese and Meat Sauce

Ravioli Casserole with Layers of Cheese and Meat Sauce made approachable with clear cues, pantry staples, and flexible swaps.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag 25 oz frozen beef ravioli
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar 24 oz marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese or ricotta if preferred
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any grease.
  • Stir in marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
  • Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce.
  • Spread cottage cheese evenly over the ravioli.
  • Top with half of the mozzarella cheese, then spoon more meat sauce over the top.
  • Add remaining ravioli, then cover with the rest of the meat sauce and mozzarella.
  • Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and cheese is golden.
  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
