Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Stir in the sugar and mix until smooth.
Remove from heat and let cool slightly before adding flour, baking soda, salt, and vanilla.
Add in the flour, baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract.
Drop teaspoonfuls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving ample space between each dollop.
Bake for 8–10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
Allow the cookies to cool on the sheet for a few moments before transferring them to a wire rack.
