Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Add in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Start and end with the flour mixture.
Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with the batter.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Once cooled, frost the cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and decorate with holiday sprinkles.
