Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the molasses, egg, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Shape the dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
