Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the apples by peeling, coring, and slicing them.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and melted butter until combined.
  • Pour the batter over the apple mixture, spreading it gently.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
