Ingredients

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  • Add whole wheat pasta to the boiling water.
  • In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the oil.
  • Stir in broccoli florets and vegetable broth.
  • Cover and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Drain the cooked pasta and add to the broccoli mixture.
  • Season with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
