Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the crust by mixing softened butter, granulated sugar, flour, and salt in a bowl until combined and crumbly.
  3. Press the crust mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes or until lightly golden.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and sea salt until smooth.
  6. Stir in the chopped pecans into the filling mixture.
  7. Pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes or until the filling is set.
  9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing.
  10. Slice into squares and enjoy!
