  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar for custard
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

Method
 

  1. Make the pie crust.
  2. Chill the crust.
  3. Prepare the apple filling.
  4. Preheat the oven.
  5. Roll out the pie dough.
  6. Fill the pie crust with the apple mixture.
  7. Prepare the custard.
  8. Pour custard over the filling.
  9. Bake the pie.
  10. Cool before serving.
