  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned.
  2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  3. Stir in the rice, allowing it to toast for about 1 minute.
  4. Combine the chicken broth and Italian seasoning, then bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for approximately 18-20 minutes, or until rice is tender.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and peas, cooking until warmed through.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.
