Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ribeye steak thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: sautéed bell peppers

Method
 

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onions to the skillet and sauté until caramelized.
  3. Season with salt and pepper, then remove onions from the skillet.
  4. Increase the heat to high and add the sliced ribeye to the skillet.
  5. Cook the steak for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Return the caramelized onions to the skillet, combine with the beef, and mix well.
  7. Place the provolone cheese over the beef and onions, covering the skillet for a minute.
  8. Toast the hoagie rolls in another pan or under the broiler until golden brown.
  9. Assemble the cheesesteaks by filling the toasted rolls with the cheesesteak mixture.
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Philly cheesesteak!
