Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Incorporate the broccoli florets and red pepper flakes, cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring the mixture to a boil.
Add the orzo, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender.
Once the orzo is tender but not mushy, remove from heat and stir in the Parmesan cheese.
Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
